Behaviour Support

At Adapting Together Therapies, we employ Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as a cornerstone of our behaviour support services. Our approach to ABA is rooted in a deep understanding of each individual’s unique interests, strengths, and needs, providing a foundation for personalised and effective support strategies. What is Applied Behaviour Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a powerful and evidence-based approach focused on understanding and improving learning and behavior. ABA is used to teach new skills and understand why behaviours of concern happen. By recognising the reasons behind behaviours of concern, alternative skills can be taught to allow an individual to get their needs met more effectively. This is achieved by looking at how a person's behaviour and the world around them are connected. The use of individualised goals, evidence-based strategies, and data-driven decision making contribute to the proven effectiveness of ABA in creating new learning.

How is ABA at ATT different?

Our mission is to foster skill development and achieve meaningful outcomes, all while prioritising the values, preferences, dignity, and well-being of our clients. While ABA has demonstrated effectiveness in teaching new skills, traditional methods have, at times, overlooked the individual's personal experiences and values, leading to negative impacts on the autistic community. Recognising the importance of aligning our practices with the principles of respect and individuality, Adapting Together Therapies is dedicated to advancing neurodiversity-affirming ABA practices.
